Today Motor Mouth has announced that 1.31 will finally be coming to online beta as soon as they fix some issues with ATI graphics cards. It is clear to me the best way around it is to never buy an ATI card, but some people seem to like being sucked in by their gimmicks. Anyway, I am hoping this thing will go live by March and that they have a welcome back soldier promotion to go along with it. S!

CRS has announced that open beta will begin on 21 December. Finally this long awaited patch will be released.

http://lrat.aowc.net/pt/1.31-Beta-Testing/blog.htm

http://lrat.aowc.net/pt/1.31-Beta-Testing/blog.htm

1.31 Update

CRS has announced that 33% of known bugs have been addressed. They go on to state that another third of the fixes are going through quality assurance and that the remaining issues are minor and will be eliminated quickly after the major tasks have been completed.

This news seems to reenforce my suspicion that CRS has been holding out in order to give us v1.31 as a Christmas patch. The extended development cycles of late have not allowed them to work on Christmas goodies as has been the tradition.

Rafter has posted an update regarding the new capture system and it includes some screen shots of new buildings. Very much worth looking at and you can find it here.

The Allies are breaking out in the South. They have taken back Catillon and have pushed on to Chimay where they are fiercely defending the city. Reims AF is now threatened by Allied forces. Hopefully they can hold on to this gained ground long enough to push the northern front to the east.

The battle is still raging as the Allies have pushed the Axis back to Reims in the south and are still holding fast at Knokke. Is it all for naught or will the Allies make a come back to win the war? Only time will tell.

Still waiting for the new patch to go into public beta. It is being hyped big time, and we can only hope it works well. This brings some long overdue changes to the game. Aussie05 is back in game on a temporary basis and Hotjoe will be back with us soon after having completed his Army basic training in the real world. Thanks for your service Hotjoe.

Our squad logo is now working in ArmA 2 for anyone that would like to display it, just contact me so can get your details added to the .xml file.

Americas Army 3 is now working for the most part. Anyone wanting to schedule some game time contact me and we will work out a date for some squad time.

I am hoping to be in game myself some time soon, but that is dependant on if I get called to work in November. In the meantime, please work with Subrat and Dakota to make squad nights successful. I know everyone is busy with real life issues (when it rains, it pours eh?) but let's keep in contact an try to maintain our presence.

v1.31 is almost ready for open beta release and will bring us rain effects, new blood and ragdolls and some new buildings (bunkers, pillboxes). Still a long way to go before we reach modern standards of graphics but a marked improvement and icing on our cake. Also the end of table humping. It promises to be a significant patch.

No News

Things are slow right now, hopefully they will pick up once school starts again. It is difficult for me to make updates on our status when the people I communicate with aren't able to play the game or spend time in the forums. I myself have been quite busy. No games lately.

Looking at the map currently, it appears that the Allies are having a difficult time of things.

LRAT News

Subrat17 and some others have returned to their rightful place on the Allied side. The campaign is nearly at a close (provided everyone doesn't quit out of boredom and allow the Axis to make a comeback) LRAT has done an outstanding job this map and played a part in another historical milestone (retaking of Antwerp) for the game.

We have a new female member on the team now so I would like to welcome S33n2d0 to the team. The diversity of players in this game is just amazing and we have had women and minors on the squad, all have given great contributions. We are happy to have you, along with any new members that I haven't been informed of yet (our recruiters run wild ) and hope you are happy with us.

Americas Army 3 has been released, and what a complete disaster. You cannot connect with the authentication server with any regularity, it doesn't save your training results and is pretty much unplayable with crashes and the inability to play online. We will not be setting up in this game until it works properly.

ArmA 2 is out now in the UK and will be released in the US next Friday. I am looking forward to it and hopefully they will get the proper patches released in order to get the game working like it should in far less time than it took for the previous version. The game has the expected bugs and issues but the ability to play in the editor makes up for it because it allows you to play the game and use all of the equipment. I hope it is unlocked on Steam at an early time so I can download it. I think I will go nuts waiting for it to download. I suggest ths game only for more serious LRAT members because we will be playing mostly on the ultra realism servers.

So it is officially 3 years that LRAT has been together in WWIIOL. It has been quite the ride. Here is looking at another 3, CHEERS!
